State Contracted Community- Based Services

 The Community Based Services provided by McConaughy Discovery Center are geared at assisting children, adolescents and families involved in the Child Welfare or Juvenile Justice Systems in Nebraska.  Our services assist children and families in reaching permanency, safety or well-being outcomes according to their individualized case plan.

Child Welfare Services

  • Family Support - Family Support Services is  face to face assistance, coaching, teaching, role modeling, and supervision of parent/child visitations.  Each session with the parent should be guided by a specific measurable and obtainable outcome and related service strategy and should markedly demonstrate progress towards permanency or lack thereof through parental practice and staff documentation.  Safety Checks are included in this service definition and allow the supervising staff to “check in to monitor safety” with the family when a transition to fully supervised to partially supervised or unsupervised has occurred.
  • In Home Safety - In Home Safety is a rapid response, home-based intervention services delivered by trained professionals to manage identified safety threats in order to safely maintain the child in the family home.  Trained professionals shall intervene if safety of the child(ren) is compromised.  Trained professionals shall provide training, modeling, and coaching to the parent or caretaker when necessary to facilitate the child remaining safely placed in the family home.  In Home Safety Service is provided by trained staff who are awake and providing supervision 24 yours a day, 7 days a week.  This service is provided while safety assessment is being conducted.
  • Drug Screening & Testing - Services to monitor the usage of drugs and/or alcohol by an individual who are identified as having a substance abuse problem.   Test specimens include but are not limited to urine, saliva, sweat and breath.  

Juvenile Justice Services
